MEET OUR STAFF

A special message from our Executive Director

Dear Friends,
Reba Early Learning Center has been a part of the Evanston community for 55 years, providing care and education for preschool age children, supporting working families and strengthening the community.  Through activities, exploration, stories, movement and play, children have learned about math, science, language, art, music the importance of taking care of themselves and others.   This year, a year unlike any we have experienced before, children have also learned through example about strength, resiliency, creativity and flexibility.
In a year filled with many challenges, we find a sense of joy and gratitude and for:
  • A Center that was open for children so they could learn, explore, and interact
  • A Center that was open so that families could go to work or continue with school
  • Dedicated staff who came to work each day facing new challenges and procedures while providing children care, comfort and a place to be themselves
  • Families who provided trust, support and flexibility through uncertain times
  • A community that came together to support each other and become stronger
Throughout this difficult year, there has been new recognition of the importance of affordable, quality Early Childhood Education, and how our Centers provide vital services to our children, our families, and our communities.  The work however continues, and with joy and gratitude we appreciate the support from our friends, our families, our neighbors and our community.

Sincerely,
Darcy Carter
